The graduate knows deeply and thoroughly:

• The methods of description/registration, sketching, photography as well as scientific research, camera processing/documentation, serialization, combination statistics and correspondence of archaeological material:
• Basic biology (bone structure and growth process, animal skeletons) and features of taphonomy or human-induced transformation processes;
• Relevant methods for palynological research: taking analytical samples, palynological research of organic remains and the contents of archaeological vessels, construction of palynological diagrams, paleoecological reconstruction;
• The history of the origin of diseases and the factors contributing to their development, specific terms characteristic of the field and the pathological processes that affect the bone.
• Processes and dynamics of reflecting changes in material culture after the spread of Christianity in Georgia;
• The sequence of the research of the archaeological monuments of the Christian era of Georgia and the principles of fixing the archaeological samples; strategies and standards for academic writing and research.

In accordance with the selected specialization module, the graduate knows in depth:

• The most important monuments of prehistoric and pre-Bronze Age Asian archaeological cultures;
• The area of spread of Colchis culture, chronology-periodization, leading components and their features;
• The leading archeological monuments of the Kartli Kingdom (secular and temple architecture, defensive buildings, baths) and geographical boundaries;
• The characteristics and important monuments of Chalcolithic culture and Neolithic archeology.
• The characteristics of the main categories of archeology sources: "separate archaeological finds", "burial monuments", "cult monuments", "citizens/settlers", "treasures";
• The project management standards and principles, including archaeological projects;
• The theory of production of geophysical intelligence and principles of practical application (geophysical and geoarchaeological methods);
• The principles and methods of reading and interpreting palynological diagrams.

The graduate:

• Conducts the archaeological survey using archaeological field methods;
• prepares and manages an archaeological project and/or plans and implements an archaeological expedition, carries out camera processing and documentation of the archaeological material obtained, taking into account modern methods and standards;
• constructs, reads and interprets palynological diagrams;
• is able to formulate and present the results obtained by using modern geophysical techniques, including critical analysis of complex and incomplete information and innovative synthesis, to the academic and/or general public;
• integrates acquired knowledge and experience with changing news (new archaeological discoveries, publications) and professional self-development.

The graduate:

• Conducts archaeological research taking into account the professional values and ethical standards of the archaeologist and interprets the obtained results and transforms them into the format of a research paper (master's thesis, publication).
