Program permission: | The admission of students to the Master's Program, which represents the second level (VII) of higher education, follows two distinct processes: one based on the results of the Unified National Examinations and the other relying on Order No. 224/N issued by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia on December 29, 2011, pertaining to the English language. The selection of students is made through oral interviews, contingent upon successful administrative registration and approval by the University's Rector. Graduates holding bachelor's degrees from various health and social welfare-related fields will be eligible to apply for the program. |
Program goals: | The primary objective of this program is to educate highly proficient experts within the realm of public health and health policy, whose professional endeavors will contribute significantly to enhancing the health and overall well-being of the nation's population. Graduates of this master's program will possess an extensive understanding of health determinants and their management, encompassing local, national, and global perspectives. They will be proficient in crafting health policy objectives and strategies, advocating for their implementation, and evaluating the resultant outcomes. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have the opportunity to pursue careers in various sectors, including legislative and executive bodies, public organizations, as well as both international and local non-governmental organizations. They will also be well-suited for roles within medical institutions and insurance companies that focus on public health and health policy, where they can assume positions such as public health analysts. |

Learning outcomes: | Knowledge and understanding Acquire a profound and systematic understanding of public health, health systems, and policies, enabling the comprehension of both direct and indirect interconnections, as well as the ability to devise solutions for issues within the domains of public health and health policy. Develop original managerial insights and grasp intricate mechanisms. · Gain expertise in recognizing the characteristics and imperative nature of deliberate alterations necessary at the global and international health levels, encompassing its determinants across regions, countries, and local areas. · Cultivate a systematic understanding of patient-centric approaches and patient rights within the contexts of public health services, targeting various patient groups and populations. · Attain knowledge pertaining to the intricacies of administrative relationships, the concept of governance, principles of specialized authority within administrative bodies, managerial economics, and the intricacies of health economics. Teaching Process Characteristics: | To attain a Master's degree in Public Health and Health Policy, students are required to accrue 120 ECTS credits. This total comprises 105 ECTS credits dedicated to the core subjects of the program, which encompasses the completion of the Master's thesis, worth 30 ECTS credits. Additionally, students must select 15 ECTS credits from the offered elective subjects, chosen from a pool of 30 ECTS credits' worth of available options. |
