Program permission:	Enrollment of students in the first level of academic higher education (bachelor programs) is carried out based on the results of the unified national exams or by the order of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia No. 224/N (December 29, 2011). Students are enrolled based on administrative registration and the presidents’ order.
Program goals:	The program objective is to provide students with the comprehensive knowledge of the phenomenon of IR, its conceptual and theoretical components, as well as the organizations, institutions and regimes that define the global politico-economic order. Program allows students to develop skills necessary to review and analyze relevant processes in the context of foreign policy, and to identify key factors for political decision-making. Additionally, program graduates will be able to conduct research on the topics relevant to international relations and within the given analytical and methodological framework. Graduates will have the possibility to be employed in state (public) agencies as well as business and analytical organizations, incl. those of international and local think-tank (i.e. NGO) organizations at the junior analyst/researcher and similar positions.

Learning outcomes:	Knowledge and understanding After completing the program graduates will have: comprehensive knowledge of state policy, political system, regimes, political philosophy and ideologies, as well as key factors and institutions of state's political and economic functioning. wide knowledge of theoretical and conceptual foundation of the IR, geopolitical concepts, states' foreign policy priorities/interests, international organizations, as well sources for international conflicts and military confrontations. knowledge of global economic order, its functional logic, mechanisms, financial institutions, as well as factors contributing to the global trade, economic interdependence and cooperation. knowledge of states' foreign policies, regional differences, effectiveness of global architecture,institutional mechanisms, as well as regional challenges and causes of major conflicts. knowledge of democatic processes, state transformation, ideological and religious impacts, as well as the challenges for the security in the global political context. Skills After completing the program graduates will have: ability to analyze conflicts and their causes, as well as socio-political processes unfolding in a certain region or the state. ability to review comprehensively and critically asses the question of complex political, financial or otherwise interdependence between the international institutional mechanisms and existing norms and procedures. ability to conduct research on the selected topics relevant to international relations and within the given analytical and methodological framework. ability to identify the relevance and historical dynamics of key factors contributing to formation of certain state political regimes, political transformation, as well as religious-ideological factors. ability to assess the effectiveness and the logic of decision-making, key factors and mechanisms in the variety of context such as crisis, conflict, political rivalry or war. Responsibility and autonomy After completing the program graduates will: utilize their theoretical and methodological knowledge to advance their professional skills while working with relevant literature and other sources. acknowledge the importance of the democratic values and liberties as well as cooperative approach in international relations and politics. acknowledge and protect norms of academic and research ethics.

Program details:	In addition to humanitarian-social and STEM blocks and the program's core subjects, the student can accumulate 96 credits with the minor program, program electives or free elective credits. The program considers the different competencies of students in the English language. Namely, the student starts the English language from the stage that corresponds to his knowledge, which is determined based on the assessment obtained on the unified national exams: if the student's score is 63%, he is placed on English B1/1 level; if the student's score is placed in the gap [64%-86%]- B1/2; if the student's score is in the interval (87%-100%)-B1/2. If the language skills are above 93% student can be tested and granted B2/2 if the maximum scores achieved. If not the student will be ranked back at B2/1. If student misses the language tests once scored more than 93% before, he will be ranked at B2/1 level.
Teaching Process Characteristics:	To obtain a bachelor's degree in International Relations, a student needs to complete 240 ECTS, composed of 12 ECTS from the humanitarian-social block, 6 ECTS from the STEM block, 162 ECTS from the core subjects of the program, 18 ECTS free credits, 42 ECTS by choosing electives classes of the program and free credits from the minor[U1] . This regulation is valid for the students enrolled before 2021. The teaching language of the program is Georgian, with separate English-language components. Accordingly, all components are taught mainly in Georgian, except for those courses where English-language literature is used.
