Learning outcomes:	Knowledge and understanding Upon completion of the program, the graduate: Describes and discusses the historical and contemporary stages of development of journalism, new media, multimedia and photojournalism; Characterizes the techniques of news writing, television, radio and in-depth writing; Evaluates the ethical standards of journalism and the 9 basic principles of journalistic work and describes international legal acts and norms on freedom of speech and expression; Characterizes the principles of the functioning of the media market and the features of managing media companies; Reviews the features of publishing and technological platforms, including the mechanisms of using Adobe Photoshop and publishing technologies in the process of creating journalistic work; Reviews the specifics of journalistic investigation, business and economic coverage, as well as politics and election coverage; Determines important aspects of academic writing and Georgian language stylistics in the process of working on a journalistic work; Reviews the principles of social psychology and their impact on journalistic work; Explains the principles of documentary film production, including scripting, filming, and editing. Skills Upon completion of the program, graduate: Creates news, reports, and multimedia products; Plans and creates investigative media products, documentaries, and in-depth articles; Manages social media platforms and utilize new media technologies; Evaluates and analyzes business and economic issues, political events, and public relations; Reports on social, economic, and political events in accordance with ethical standards; Manages telling stories using photography and creates photo composition using technical platforms; Works with primary and secondary sources in accordance with ethical standards. Responsibility and autonomy Upon completion of the program, the graduate: Appreciates democratic values, the importance of freedom of speech and the reliability of information; Accepts responsibility for providing diverse and transparent information to the public; Supports adherence to ethical standards of journalism when providing information to the public.

Program details:	In addition to humanitarian-social and STEM blocks and the program's core subjects, the student can accumulate 78 credits with the minor program, program electives or free elective credits. The program considers the different competencies of students in the English language. Namely, the student starts the English language from the stage that corresponds to his knowledge, which is determined based on the assessment obtained on the unified national exams: if the student's score is placed in the interval [0-50]-A2; if the student's score is placed in the gap [51-75]- B1/1 If the student's score is in the interval (76-100)-B1/2, the student who has not passed the English language is given a test to determine the level and then he is registered at the appropriate level, not higher than B1/2.
Teaching Process Characteristics:	To obtain a bachelor's degree in journalism, a student needs to complete 240 ECTS, which means 12 ECTS from the humanitarian-social block, 12 ECTS from the STEM block, 132 ECTS from the core subjects of the program, 18 ECTS free credits, 66 ECTS by choosing the subjects of the program and/or by selecting an additional (minor) program. Students can choose an additional minor program from the following majors: Archaeology, English Philology, Georgian Philology, Art Studies, Oriental Studies, American Studies, History, Strategic Communication, and Political Science. This change only applies to students enrolled after 2021. The teaching language of the program is Georgian, with separate English-language components. Accordingly, all components are taught mainly in Georgian, except for those courses where English-language literature is used.
