Program permission: | Admission criteria/ prerequisite (for the citizens of Georgia): The students are enrolled on the master program on the basis of the results of Unified National Exams for Masters or on the basis of the decree №224/ნ (December 29, 2011) of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, on the basis of the written exam in English and interview in the specialty, on the basis of the administrative registration and the decree of the University presidents. Admission criteria/ prerequisites (for the foreign country citizens): Foreign entrants who completed higher education abroad or got the education equivalent to it, or/and completed the last two years of higher education abroad, or students, who lived abroad during last two or more years and studied abroad in higher educational institutions accredited in compliance with the legislation of the host country are enrolled in the program without taking Unified National Exams for Masters on the basis of the decree № 224 / ნ (December 29, 2011) of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia. English language requirement: B2 (Upper-intermediate). English language competence of candidates is assessed by either 1) the university through university exams, with a minimum threshold of 70%; or 2) TOEFL IBT – at least score 80; IELTS – at least score 6; PTE General – at least level B2; FCE – at least level B. |
Program goals: | The aim of the program is to train a highly qualified specialist with the ability to fully and purposefully use in practice the theories and research methods relevant to the field of English Philology. The program provides the student with the ability to comprehend in-depth interdisciplinarity, polyparadigmaticity and interparadigmaticity of the field of English philology, to understand the exploratory potential and practical value of the theories relevant to the thinking spaces of linguistics and literature, cultural studies and sociology.
