Program permission: | Individuals possessing a bachelor's degree, or its academic commensurate, within the fields of arts and humanities, social sciences, journalism, and information sciences, shall be enrolled in the master's program in Georgian philology. Admission to the mentioned program is contingent upon the outcome of unified master's examinations or in alignment with the directive set forth by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Number 224/N, dated December 29, 2011, conveyed in the English language. Eligibility is contingent upon the successful completion of both a B/2 level written examination and a specialized oral examination, followed by administrative enrollment and an official presidential decree. |
Program goals: | The program aims to prepare a highly qualified master-degree holder in Georgian language and literature. To achieve the set goal, important and problematic issues of Georgian language and literature will be deeply and systematically studied; thus, the knowledge gained in Georgian language and literature at the undergraduate level will be further deepened and the skills requisite for scientific research will be developed. The convergence of academic resources and academic components embedded within the program provides graduates with the prospect to effectively apply their acquired knowledge into practice. Additionally, if desired, the program offers the graduates a pathway to pursue doctoral studies within a cognate or adjacent discipline. |

Teaching Process Characteristics: | To obtain the master’s academic degree in Georgian philology, a student needs to accumulate 120 ECTS comprising the core subjects - 96 ECTS (including the preparation and defense of the master's thesis - 30 ECTS), the elective subjects - 24 ECTS. |
