Program permission: | Enrollment of students in the second level of higher education (master's program) is carried out in accordance with the results of the Unified Master's exams or the order of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia №224 / N (December 29, 2011), as a result of passing the internal university exam (English language level B2) and passing the oral interview in the specialty, on the basis of passing the administrative registration and the order of the President. Confirmation of English language proficiency is possible by presenting an international language certificate (TOEFL (87), IELTS (6.5) or other relevant B2 level score) or by exceeding the 70% threshold of the university's institutional test. |
Program goals: | Train pharmacy managers whose professional activities will help the healthcare system to function effectively, improving the health of the population by increasing the availability of safe, effective and quality pharmaceutical products. Will be able to research, evaluate and administer external and internal challenges to the validity of the state model of pharmaceutical management, external and internal challenges to the pharmaceutical system / organization. The graduate of the program, Master of Pharmacy Management, will be able to carry out high-level managerial activities in organizations of state, international and private legal form in such segments of pharmaceutical activities as: State administration of pharmaceutical products, pharmaceutical production, distribution, logistics quality control, import and export promotion, administration of clinical trials and pharmacovigilance, activities of insurance companies in the field of pharmacoeconomics. He will be able to continue his scientific research activities and study at the post-doctoral level. |

Learning outcomes: | Knowledge and understanding • Demonstrates knowledge of pharmaceutical economics and pharmaceutical policy, pharmaceutical quality systems management, drug authorization, business administration of clinical trials, pharmacovigilance and pharmaceutical ethics, global, international and public health protection policy, health systems management, managerial economics; · Understands the universal functions of pharmacy management, teamwork, leadership, management, etc. features of the healthcare organization's management process, receiving quantitative and qualitative information and statistical processing; • Understands GMP API (Good Manufacturing Practice for Active Ingredient), GMP MP (Good Manufacturing Practice for Pharmaceutical Product), GDP API (Good Distribution Practice for Active Ingredient), GDP MP (Good Distribution Practice for Pharmaceutical Product), GDP Exipien (Good Distribution Practice for Excipients) ), GSP (good warehousing practice) and quality process prevention and correction (CAPA) system, through which it solves the problems of safety, quality, efficiency of drugs at the stage of production, distribution and logistics; • Describes and defines issues of good clinical practice (GCP), ethical principles of research (welfare of research subjects, etc.), specific pricing strategies (including cartel bargaining, price leadership, discrimination, unlimited pricing); Skills • Formulates and determines the mission and goals of pharmaceutical activity entities, health care organization, strategic and current plans (including quality system management), marketing of pharmaceutical production, methods of organization, coordination and control of work to be carried out; • Plans and implements systematic activities of multidisciplinary prevention and correction (CAPA) of quality assurance at the stage of pharmaceutical product distribution, produces unintended side effects of consumed drugs, administration of clinical trials, drawing up a research business plan and financial calculations; • On the basis of critical analysis, formulates justified conclusions at the system level of health care, pharmaceutical structures, pharmaceutical market and research by innovative synthesis of complex information and statistical data processing of calculated covariation and correlation results; • Collects, processes, interprets and evaluates complex modular drug information (safety, quality, effectiveness, legality, ethical aspects of pharmaceutical industry actions); • Develops sound initiatives based on critical analysis of the latest pharmaceutical policy and pharmacoeconomics data, validity of regulatory models/tools and rationality of pharmacotherapy; • Evaluates the social corporate responsibility of the pharmaceutical entity to the society, the superiority of the administration under the supervision of standards in relation to the principles of directive management and promotes its establishment, the development of the principles of managerial, medical, pharmaceutical ethics in the provision of healthcare services, as well as evaluates the attitude of oneself and healthcare professionals in the ethics of drug use, research and pharmacy in general; Responsibility and autonomy • Understands health care, including pharmacy management, supervision, drug authorization, research, quality system as a dynamically developing field, the need for further in-depth study and independent planning of separate issues (including in the statistical-mathematical field); |

Program details: | In the field of pharmaceutical management, the student performs research work, writes abstracts, critically analyzes a scientific article, chooses news and prepares projects, makes presentations of the obtained results. |
Teaching Process Characteristics: | To obtain the academic degree of Master of Pharmacy Management, a student needs to accumulate 120 ECTS, which includes the main subjects of the program - 108 ECTS including - master's thesis - 30 ECTS and elective subjects - 12 ECTS, which the student chooses from 54 ECTS of the electives. |
