Program permission: | The enrollment of students into the second tier of academic higher education, specifically master's programs, is governed by the outcomes of the unified master's examinations or is conducted in accordance with Ministerial Order No. 224/N issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia on December 29, 2011. This process necessitates successful performance in two distinct assessments: the English language examination (comprising written components with a requisite proficiency level of B2) and the evaluation of competence in the respective field of specialization, both in written and orally. The admission procedure relies on administrative registration and is executed under the authority of university presidents. Proficiency in the English language may be substantiated through the presentation of an internationally recognized language certification, such as TOEFL (with a minimum score of 87) or IELTS (attaining a minimum score of 6.5), or by achieving a result at the B2 level in accordance with other established standards. Alternatively, applicants can demonstrate their English language proficiency by achieving a score that surpasses the 70% threshold in the university's proprietary institutional examination. |
Program goals: | The program aims at providing the student with modern knowledge and professional skills related to the management of the educational system, leadership, pedagogical trends and challenges, so that he/she can take a global position in management in the field of education; the program enables the students to understand and criticize the theories and practices relevant to the field of educational management in the context of modern research and professional experience. The program provides the development of necessary competencies to deal with the cross-cultural challenges of educational management and provides the student with efficient strategies of management. Along with the theoretical aspects, the most important aspect of the program is providing the students with the competency of analyzing practical cases related to modern problems; all the mentioned allows the graduate to perform managerial functions of the organizations working on education issues or in the field of education. The graduate will have in-depth knowledge of educational issues and specializations meeting the demands of a wide range of employers. The program trains a future leader who can take a managerial position in secondary and higher, both national and international educational institutions; in governmental and non-governmental, as well as private consulting and training organizations working on education-related issues, or to pursue studies at the next academic level of education - Ph.D. |

Program details: | The program consists of 120 ECTS: 66 credits - core courses and 30 credits - master's thesis. The remaining 24 ECTS can be obtained through program electives as well as through the courses offered by other English-language master's programs (considering their prerequisites). |
Teaching Process Characteristics: | The program includes a teaching and research component. It can be overcome both with full and partial load. The educational component includes 11 core and 4 elective courses of 6 credits, while a research component - a master's research thesis is given 30 credits. In case of a full-time, two-year program, the student completes the study components in three semesters, through 5 courses each semester, and a thesis with a research component in the fourth semester. |
