Program permission: | The students are enrolled on the masters programs on the basis of the results of the national entrance exams or on the basis of the decree №224/ნ (December 29, 2011) of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, on the basis of the administrative registration and the decree of the Rector. |
Program goals: | The Master’s program in Public Administration (UG MPA) is designed to prepare internationally competitive and highly qualified public administration professionals aspiring democratic values and Good governance principles, ready to assume leadership, effectively plan, implement, and evaluate public sector programs and thus contribute to delivering better public services through innovation and policy change. Georgia has put forward its public administration reform agenda striving for democratic values and good governance principles, fostering open, transparent, and service oriented public institutions. Ongoing political-administrative reforms, European integration processes and democratization of public programs and services bring a number of conceptual and managerial challenges to the public administration praxis in Georgia. The smooth transition from an old, command-and-control governance system to the new, open and distributive administrative processes is only possible through the new generation of highly qualified public administration professionals. Accordingly, MPA curriculum is designed to deliver in-depth knowledge of managerial, political, legislative, and economic aspects of public administration, encourage innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, provoke entrepreneurial and leadership mindset and provide practical skill-set to contributes to the successful professional career development as well as qualitative improvement of the public administration praxis nationwide. |

Program details: | The combination of the core and elective courses of the Master of Public Administration program provides the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject blocks, which will produce the graduate with relevant qualifications and job market-oriented competencies. Depending on the specific professional interests of the student, the student may choose subjects from public administration and management, politics and international relations or law blocks. Subjects can be selected from one or all of the three blocks, allowing the student to gain specific knowledge in the chosen field or to choose a combination of subjects of interest to them. |
Teaching Process Characteristics: | In order to earn a master’s degree in Public Administration, student is required to collect 120 ECTS, which includes: the program core courses - 90 ECTS in total and 30 ECTS from the rest of the master’s Program in Public Administration. |
